The AI Advisor tier is free forever, no credit card. What keeps it free is a weekly usage limit rather than a per-message charge.
Where to see it
Open Your Setup. The usage gauge sits under your businesses — a finger needle that swings from empty to full as the week's allowance gets consumed.
- Plenty left → the tape label reads Weekly limit.
- Nothing left → it reads No usage left! and turns red.
Underneath, the reset line tells you exactly when you get it back: Resets Today at 8:32 AM, Resets Tomorrow at…, or Resets on Thursday at….
What uses it up
Long research runs and multi-phase playbooks cost more than a quick question — the limit tracks real work done, not messages sent. In practice most people never hit it.
If you run out
You're not locked out permanently; the limit rolls over at the reset time shown on the gauge. If you're hitting it regularly, that's usually a signal you've outgrown the free tier — the AI + Human Specialist tier exists for that, and it comes with the person who built NERD rather than just a bigger number. Making it go further
- Finish playbooks. A stalled run costs the same as a finished one and gives you nothing.
- Keep My Brain current. Correct context means fewer wasted rounds.
- Be specific. Vague prompts produce vague answers you then have to re-ask.
