Getting started
From sign-up to your first finished session — the walkthrough, the onboarding map, and what to do first.
Sign up with your email, confirm who you are, and NERD does the rest. You're talking in about five minutes.
1. Sign up
Email only — no credit card, and the AI Advisor tier is free forever. Once you're in, NERD asks who you are and what your business does. Answer honestly rather than impressively; everything you say becomes context it reuses later, so a flattering description just produces flattering advice.
2. Let it research
Before your first real session, NERD goes and reads up on you — your site, your links, whatever you point it at. This is why the first conversation already knows things you never typed.
You can keep feeding it at any point. See My Brain for what it stores and how to correct it.
3. Take the walkthrough
The first time you log in, NERD runs a short forced walkthrough of the header so you know where everything lives. It only happens once.
You can replay it any time from Your Setup:
- Replay Intro — the film-projector icon, replays the introduction.
- Walkthrough — the camera-film icon, replays the header tour.
- Getting Started — the map icon, opens the onboarding map.
- Learn More / Help Guides — opens these docs.
4. Follow the onboarding map
The map — Your AI Journey — is the fastest way to know what to do next. It has five stages, in order:
- Who you are — the basics about you and the business.
- Research — NERD goes and learns the rest.
- First playbook — start any playbook.
- Finished conversation — actually run one to its last phase.
- Analyzed use case — put a real number on one AI idea.
On top of the five stages there are three bonuses:
- Playbooks — finish a conversation on each of the first five playbooks.
- My Brain — fill in five data points by hand, yourself.
- Share — copy a public share link and have someone open it. Creating the link isn't enough; the bonus clears on the first real page view, and opening your own link in the same browser doesn't count.
5. Run your first playbook
If you don't know where to start, start with Outline your tasks — it maps everything you do and finds where AI adds value, which makes every later playbook better. Full list in Playbooks.
What good looks like after a week
- My Brain has real facts in it, including ones you corrected by hand.
- You've finished at least two playbooks end to end.
- One AI idea has an honest ROI number attached to it.
- You've shared something with a person who isn't you.
