My Brain
The memory behind every answer — data points, business memory, and how it tunes each playbook.
My Brain is why NERD's second conversation is better than its first, and why its twentieth is better than its second. It's the store of everything NERD knows about you and the business.
Data points
A data point is one fact with a defined shape — team size, current tools, what you sell, who you sell it to, where the money actually comes from. They're not free-text notes; each type has a shape, so NERD can reason over them instead of re-reading a wall of prose every time.
Data points arrive three ways:
- You answer a question. Anything you tell NERD in conversation can become one.
- NERD researches it. It reads your site and the links you give it and fills in what it can.
- You fill it in by hand. Directly, in My Brain.
That third way matters more than it sounds. The onboarding map has a bonus specifically for filling in five data points yourself — because the facts you choose to correct are the ones that were wrong, and the ones that matter most.
Business memory
Data points describe the business, not just you. If you have more than one business, each keeps its own memory, and switching between them switches the context NERD reasons from.
This is also what makes NERD useful to a team rather than a person: the memory belongs to the business, so it doesn't reset when a different person is asking.
How it tunes playbooks
Playbooks don't start from zero. Before a run begins, the relevant slice of My Brain is pulled into the session — so Analyze AI ROI already knows your cost base, and Compare tools already knows what you're running today.
This is the whole trick. A generic AI tool gives you a generic answer because it has no idea what you do. NERD's answers narrow as its memory fills up.
Keeping it honest
- Correct things. If NERD believes something wrong about the business, fix the data point. Everything downstream inherits the error otherwise.
- Feed it changes. New product, new pricing, new headcount — tell it, and the next session reflects it.
- Check before a big playbook. A two-minute skim of My Brain before running Analyze AI ROI is the difference between a real number and a confident guess.
